Part of a fascinating experiment conducted by Highland Park, this bottling represents a singular stage in the exploration of malt whisky's enigmatic depths. In October 1973, two oak sherry casks were filled with new make spirit. Both casks were then left undisturbed, mere feet apart in the same Highland Park warehouse, until being bottled on February 22nd, 2001.
Cask 11151 presents with a deep golden hue; its aroma is smoky, accompanied by rich sultana notes. Its thick, velvety texture is complemented by a rich, full-bodied palate, characterized by aromatic and spicy flavours.
Conversely, the other cask 11167 offers an equally enjoyable experience but is markedly different.
