Summer 2010 was the last time Daftmill used the barley variety, Optic, for distilling. The barrels used for maturing the spirit had previously been used to mature Bourbon from Clermont Springs distillery in Kentucky. The whisky from the twenty five first fill Bourbon barrels used in this bottling were distilled and filled in July 2010 and bottled in 2021.
