Description
The Dalmore Cromartie is the third in a series of limited edition releases crafted by Dalmore Master Distiller, Richard Paterson, in homage to the Clan Mackenzie.  Limited to 7,500 bottles worldwide, it celebrates the ancient lands of Cromartie, heartland of the clan, and home to Castle Leod - the clan's historic seat. The Mackenzies have held lands in Cromartie since the 1600's and to this day the clan chief still bears the title 'Earl of Cromartie'.  Stored deep in the heart of the castle and kept safe under lock and key, is an ancient map depicting the lands of Cromartie.  This priceless historical artefact, drawn up in 1762 as part of the government's order to map 'rebel estates', is a work of art in itself and adorns every box. In honor of the ancient bond between the land, the Mackenzies and The Dalmore, a share of the proceeds from every bottle sold was donated to the maintenance of the clan estates at Cromartie. Matured in American white oak before being transferred to Oloroso sherry casks, from Gonzalez Byass, distilled in 1996 and bottled in 2012. Bottle Number: 0753 We recommend that you undertake close up viewing/inspection prior to placing any bid. If you require any further information or pictures please contact us. Please note: That if insurance is not selected, due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit.
